Dots Playbook is an independent, unofficial guide to OpenAI dots, the always-on agent in ChatGPT. We write plain-English explainers for people trying to work out what dots is, whether they can use it, and how to set it up.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI. OpenAI, ChatGPT and dots are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe the product. We don’t offer a dots login or download, and we never ask for your ChatGPT account details. When you need to sign in or download something, we link to the official OpenAI pages.

How we check facts

• Every factual claim is based on an official OpenAI page (launch posts and the Help Center) wherever possible.
• Media reports are labelled as media reports, for example plan prices quoted in the press.
• Facts that change, such as prices and regions, show their source and the date we last checked it.
• Our own opinions and tips are labelled as ours.

Corrections

Dots is new and changes quickly. If you spot something out of date or wrong, email hello@dotsplaybook.com and we’ll fix it.
